The JiuJitsu club has been in Cardiff University for over 20 years and the wealth of knowledge its instructors hold is the envy of other clubs across the United Kingdom. The club has been a member of the Aiuchi JiuJitsu Association since 1995. The Aiuchi JiuJitsu Association was created with the following aims: to serve their members, and to develop their skill in JiuJitsu. They also have the goal of providing the support its clubs require such as: grading events, courses and insurance at a minimal cost. It is still important to Aiuchi to ensure that its members are treated with respect so a confident and friendly atmosphere is built in which to train. Aiuchi often holds national events which allows Cardiff to train with a wide group of people. Aiuchi JiuJitsu encourages people to make the most of their physical and mental attributes because everyone has different characteristics and abilities. There is always someone bigger, stronger, faster, fitter than ourselves, but Aiuchi encourages each individual to make the most of their strengths and overcome their weaknesses. It is not about producing fighters, rather it is about building confidence and helping JiuJitsu practitioners to be as good as they can be.
